Item Groupings

The tree stores many items, so to assist in navigation; UTEL have set up folder groupings of items.

Below are the current rules set up:

OLTs are grouped with a hyphen (-)

Manholes/Poles are grouped by the number found at the end of the manhole / pole name.

For example HH1, HH2 and HH3 are grouped together under HH.

If there is no number at the end, the manhole/pole is grouped under “Other Manholes” / “Other Poles”.

If no manholes/poles in a pop location have a number at the end, the “Other Manholes” / “Other Poles” folder is not created, and the manholes/poles will simply be listed under “Manholes” / “Poles.

Zones are grouped with an underscore (_)

Buildings are grouped by the number found at the start of the building name.

For example “123 High Street” and “125 High Street” are grouped together under “High Street”.

If there is no number at the start, the building is grouped under “Other Buildings”.

If no buildings in a POP location have a number at the start, the “Other Buildings” folder is not created, and the buildings will simply be listed under “Buildings”.

There are three ways that cables can be grouped.

If the cable name starts with “AC “ then it will be grouped under “Access Cables”.

If the cable name starts with “TC “ then it will be grouped under “Tie Cables”.

If the cable name has an underscore (_), then it will be grouped on the text in front of the last underscore.
